Harvey Bloor | Director

Harvey established Cavendish Bloor to provide clients with a focused and dedicated approach to the conservation and restoration of buildings of historical interest. Prior to establishing Cavendish Bloor, Harvey gained a Post Graduate Diploma in the Conservation of the Historic Built Environment from the College of Estate Management.

In addition to his expertise in working with historical buildings, Harvey brings balanced and wide-ranging experience of industrial, commercial, retail, health, education, residential, rail, and infrastructure projects, gained whilst working for public and private sector Clients both within the United Kingdom and overseas.

Dan Mawdsley | Director

Dan is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with more than 25 years’ experience driving commercially successful outcomes across complex construction projects. He brings a decisive, results‑focused approach that strengthens project governance, protects client interests and ensures clarity from feasibility through to final account.

With a strong track record in both consultancy and contracting, Dan understands the commercial realities that shape project performance. He provides strategic advice that sharpens early decision‑making, establishes robust cost positions and maintains commercial discipline throughout delivery. His ability to interrogate detail, anticipate risk and negotiate effectively ensures issues are resolved early and opportunities for value are maximised.

His project management capability is underpinned by his ability to coordinate teams, maintain programme momentum and manage interfaces between design, commercial and delivery stakeholders. He establishes clear project structures, sets expectations early and ensures decisions are made with full visibility of cost, risk and contractual implications. His communication is precise and purposeful, enabling him to resolve issues quickly and keep teams aligned.

His leadership style is direct, proactive and grounded in clear communication. He builds trusted relationships with cli ents, consultants and contractors, creating alignment and momentum across teams. His expertise spans cost planning, procurement strategy, contract advice, value engineering, risk management, due diligence, contract administration and project management — applied with a strong commercial lens to secure best‑value outcomes.

Dan consistently delivers the commercial assurance, rigour and confidence required in competitive bid environments, making him a key contributor to successful project delivery.

David Thorp | Associate Director

David specialises in the feasibility and cost management of complex, technically demanding projects. He works closely with clients and design teams, providing clear, commercially focused advice from early concept through to delivery.

His collaborative approach centres on understanding each project’s core challenges, enabling him and his team to anticipate issues early and offer proactive insight that supports confident, informed decision‑making.

With more than 20 years’ experience delivering major projects and leading multidisciplinary teams, David is committed to providing tailored, agile project services that help clients achieve clarity, control and commercial certainty.
